Thinking, rather than homework

After three mid-terms, a much needed fall break began. I went to Cannon Beach, Oregon and wandered along beaches and coincidentally ran into several UPS people. Relaxing, sleeping and eating delicious food was delightful. I was able to spend time with my best friend and my love. School starts again tomorrow, or I suppose its now later today, and the stress is already building again. I took well over 200 pictures of the three day trip. As I go back through the pictures, the feelings came back. The relaxed, careless, adventurous love of the break returned. I love being on the beach and listening to the waves crash into rocks and then into each other. The seagulls flying around and even a few dogs barking in joy. The exploring, getting my feet wet and Pig'n Pancake all come to mind. I also tried to catch up on sleep. Monday I came back and took a 3 hour nap till 9, then went to sleep at midnight. The next morning I woke up at noon. Sleep is a glorious waste of time. (We have a love-hate relationship). I'm so thankful for the wonderful break, and will certainly never forget it. It easy to get lost in life, to not remember those little things that matter, when homework swells your time. And time actually gets lost. The first half of the semester flew by. I danced a quick ballet with no room to fall. You keep dancing and spinning on the tips of your toes, sometimes only by luck that you don't fall. I'm ready to finish this semester strong. I'm going to work to remember those important things like kites decorating the sky and crashing waves, but also to keep dancing.
